Odour Neutralizer With a Difference – KleanAir Odour Neutralizers

Masking odours that are offensive to humans and animals may control the odour immediately and for a very short period of time, however, this does not remove the hazardous and sometimes deadly nature of the compound. Most odour neutralizers in the market today do not actually neutralize any odours; they merely mask them by trying to trick the olfactory senses by overlaying one odour with another. This is exactly what most people do when they buy a can of air freshener from the supermarket and put it in the bathroom. When it is used, often the resultant mixture of smells is worse than the original.

Introduction to KleanAir Odour Neutralizers

KleanAir is an eco-friendly odour neutralizer that removes the odorous compounds by chemically reacting with the offending odour. This reaction changes the chemical structure of the compounds and changes it into a non-volatile, readily disipatable amine (salt). Because this reaction changes the structure of the offending compounds, it is no longer odorous.

KleanAir is made from food and cosmetic-grade compounds, is non-hazardous and biodegradable. It is made in two specific formulas: HS and RS-1D. HS targets alkali odours (Ammonia, Tri-methylamine, etc.) and RS targets acidic compounds (Hydrogen Sulphide, Methyl Mercaptan, Sulfur Dioxide, etc.).  While these are the main types of odours, RS also works exceptionally well on gases such Benzene, Toluene, Ethyl benzene, Xylene (BTEX), Naphthalene and other Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs).

KleanAir products are different than nearly all other odour neutralizers or masking agents. The difference lies in the product makeup: nearly every product in the market is a blend of essential oils or plant extracts combined with a standard surfactant while KleanAir odour neutralizers are made of food and cosmetic grade compounds and contain only 1% essential oils or plant extracts (by total volume of concentrate).

Basic chemistry has shown that all essential oil and plant extract-based products cannot truly neutralize odours; they can only mask them or encapsulate them for a period before releasing them again.. Essential oils and plant extracts cannot bind to, and react with, a compound such as NH3 and change the structure of that volatile compound into a non-volatile compound.

Applications of KleanAir

KleanAir odour neutralizers can be used effectively for both acidic odours and alkaline odours emitted from a wide range of industrial sectors.

Some of the common areas of applications are:

  • Sewage treatment plants
  • Pumping stations
  • Tanker discharge facilities
  • Landfills and dumpsites
  • Municipal waste management facilities
  • Industrial waste management plants
  • Industries such as automobiles, paints, pharmaceuticals etc.
  • Slaughterhouses
  • Poultry farms
